Campfire Audio Relay DAC/AMP

The Relay DAC/AMP is Campfire Audio's portable USB-C DAC and headphone amplifier built around an AKM AK4493SEQ Velvet Sound DAC chip and a dual-output amplifier stage with both 3.5mm single-ended and 4.4mm balanced outputs. Six selectable digital filters and a 60-step volume control are accessible directly from the device. Designed, engineered, and final-assembled in Portland, Oregon by the team that hand-builds Campfire's IEMs.

Sound Character

The AK4493SEQ contributes a balanced, slightly analog tonality with strong micro-dynamic detail and a low noise floor. The amplifier stage drives sensitive IEMs cleanly on Low gain and shifts to enough output current on High gain to handle most full-size dynamic and planar headphones in portable use.

Modular Expansion

Pairs with the Campfire Audio Portable DAC Mag Wallet (sold as an add-on variant below) for magnetic attachment to the back of a MagSafe-equipped phone or case, with a short dual-angle USB-C cable that minimizes connector strain.

Build and Connectivity

Black PVD-coated CNC aluminum chassis, approximately 57 × 23 × 10 mm. USB Type-C input on one end; 3.5mm and 4.4mm outputs on the other. Bus-powered, no internal battery, no charging step. Two-year manufacturer warranty.
