Campfire Audio Grand Luna

Grand Luna is Campfire Audio's first planar-balanced armature hybrid in-ear monitor, pairing a 14mm planar magnetic driver with two custom high-frequency balanced armatures inside the brand's AAOI (Additive Acoustic Optical Inclusion) shell platform. Voiced for a smoother, less fatiguing presentation than a pure planar configuration typically delivers. Hand-built in Portland, Oregon.

Type and Technology

Universal-fit hybrid IEM. One 14mm planar magnetic driver for low and mid frequencies. Two custom high-frequency balanced armatures. AAOI platform with built-in acoustic chambers and a vented air release. Custom Matrix MMCX connector. Time Link modular cable system with swappable 3.5mm single-ended, 4.4mm balanced, and USB-C DAC terminations (Cirrus Logic CS43131, 32-bit / 384 kHz, DSD 128/256).

Sound Character

Fast and detailed in the way planar drivers tend to be, but tuned for a relaxed, luxurious presentation rather than analytical edge. Low frequencies have weight and impact; mids are full-bodied; treble is extended to 30 kHz without glare. Suits long listening sessions across genres where smoothness matters as much as resolution.

Build and Comfort

Internally dyed brilliant red, externally transparent AAOI acrylic shell with a flame-treated, hand-brushed lid showing an iridescent Campfire logo over a brushed stainless field. Vented housing for natural air movement. Custom Matrix MMCX captures.

Listeners who want planar speed and resolution without the upper-mid intensity that defines many planar IEMs. Pairs especially well with warmer-leaning sources and with the Relay DAC/AMP for portable use.
