Benchmark DAC3 B

Color: Black

The Benchmark DAC3 B is the stripped-down race car of the DAC3 series, all the conversion performance of the flagship DAC3 HGC with volume control, analog inputs, and headphone amplifier removed, leaving a clean, pure DAC optimized for use with a dedicated preamplifier. Designed, assembled, and tested in the USA.

Type and Technology

Reference stereo DAC, solid-state. ESS Technologies ES9028PRO with four balanced 32-bit D/A converters summed per channel for 6dB noise reduction and 125dB SNR. Benchmark UltraLock3 jitter attenuation on all inputs. 5 digital inputs: 1x USB (up to 192kHz), 2x optical, 2x coaxial. Balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA outputs. Native DSD64 via DoP 1.1. IR remote compatible with HPA4 and LA4. Made in USA.

System Context

The DAC3 B is the source component at the heart of the Benchmark system stack. Pair it with the Benchmark HPA4 for a headphone-focused system, the Benchmark LA4 for a speaker-focused system, or run both simultaneously, the DAC3 B feeds either perfectly. Add the Benchmark AHB2 power amplifier for the complete reference loudspeaker chain. Single IR remote operates the entire stack.

Best For

Audiophiles who want pure DAC3 conversion into the HPA4 or LA4 without paying for controls they will not use.
