Kiwi Ears Etude

Sale price$119.00

The Kiwi Ears Etude turns bass into something you can feel. Alongside a beryllium coated dynamic driver and three balanced armatures, each earpiece carries Kiwi Ears' own KVT vibration transducer, which adds genuine tactile rumble to the low end for a uniquely physical listening experience.

Type and Technology

The 10mm beryllium electroplated dynamic driver is tuned as a subwoofer with a crossover at 250Hz, handing the midrange to a high efficiency balanced armature and the top end to a dual ultra high frequency armature tweeter. The KVT, short for Kiwi Vibration Transducer, uses N52 neodymium magnets suspended on high tension springs to vibrate a conduction plate in time with the bass.

Sound Character

Expect an 8dB sub-bass lift with a flat, neutral midrange and comfortable, resonance controlled treble. The vibration driver layers tactile texture over the low frequencies, giving drums and bass lines a physical, three dimensional quality without muddying vocals.

Build and Comfort

The ergonomically shaped shells sit flush in the ear and use a detachable 0.78mm 2-pin cable terminated in 3.5mm. At 5 ohms and 104dB sensitivity the Etude is very easy to drive, and it pairs well with clean, low output impedance sources.

Best For

The Etude suits bass lovers, electronic and hip hop listeners, and anyone curious about tactile audio. For a more conventional reference tuning, compare the Kiwi Ears Quintet, or browse our IEM collection and the wider Kiwi Ears range.
