Fiio SP5 Active Desktop Speakers

The Fiio SP5 is FiiO's flagship active desktop speaker system, a true active pair where each cabinet carries its own amplification and power supply. Massive die-cast aluminum enclosures, balanced XLR inputs on both speakers and full wireless support make it equally at home as a nearfield monitor rig or the heart of a compact hi-fi. It sits at the top of our speaker collection.

Type and Technology

Each speaker is a 2-way design with a 5.25 inch carbon fiber composite midwoofer and a 1 inch composite silk dome tweeter, driven by a TI TPA3116D2 Class D amp section delivering 60W to the woofer and 20W to the tweeter per side, 160W total across four independent channels. Every cabinet has its own built-in 120W universal voltage power supply, so both speakers plug straight into the wall. Inputs cover balanced XLR on each speaker, RCA, 3.5mm AUX, USB-C at up to 24 bit 96kHz and Bluetooth 5.1 with LDAC, aptX Adaptive, aptX HD, aptX LL, aptX, AAC and SBC.

Sound Character

The SP5 delivers a clean, detailed and spacious nearfield presentation with strong imaging and crisp, slightly forward treble. Bass is fast and well controlled, reaching 65Hz in standard mode or 50Hz with the low frequency extension engaged. Rear panel treble and bass trims plus a 10 band parametric EQ in the FiiO Control app let you tune it to your desk and room.

Build and Features

The two-piece cabinets are die-cast from roughly 10kg of aluminum at 650 degrees C, with a ribbed anti diffraction texture and a rear horn shaped bass reflex port; each speaker weighs about 6kg. An IR remote, per input volume memory, channel assignment switch, trigger input for power sync and Hi-Res Audio plus Hi-Res Wireless certification round out the package. Available in black or white.
