Fiio FF5 Earbuds

The Fiio FF5 is the flagship of Fiio's flat head earbud line, pairing a 14.2 mm carbon based driver with a diffuse open back design machined from aluminum. It is one of very few earbuds anywhere with a detachable MMCX cable.

Type and Technology

The newly developed 14.2 mm dynamic driver uses a carbon based composite diaphragm on a PU gasket suspension, tuned by Fiio's chief IEM engineer with a deliberate vocal focus. Extended bass acoustic resistance pipes counter the natural low end rolloff of open designs, and the blossoming flower open back diffuses rear wave energy. The 392 wire silver plated monocrystalline copper Litz cable connects over expanded MMCX and carries twist lock swappable 3.5 mm and 4.4 mm plugs.

Sound Character

The most mature tuning in the FF family: quicker leaner mid bass, upfront transparent mids that flatter vocals, and more forward treble with strong detail and stage. Reviewers single out its female vocal presentation as the highlight.

Build and Comfort
