The Takatsuki TA-2A3 is a precision-manufactured 2A3 directly heated triode made entirely in Japan by Takatsuki Electric Co. Ltd., the same company whose TA-300B has become one of the most respected premium power tubes available. Sold as a matched pair, each pair ships with an individual test report and wood storage box.

Type and Technology

Directly heated power triode, 2A3 type. Kovar glass envelope, lead-free, heat-resistant above 300°C, with Kovar lead-wire matched thermal expansion to eliminate vacuum leakage. Proprietary tri-metal anode pressed with Takatsuki's exclusive die. Grid wound from high-purity tungsten wire to within 1 micron accuracy. Spring-supported filament from strictly selected tungsten wire. All components nitrogen-stored between production steps to prevent oxidation. Individual serial number laser-engraved on upper mica for complete traceability. Hand-assembled in cleanroom conditions by skilled artisans. Matched pair selected for consistent performance across both tubes.

Sound Character

The 2A3 is a directly heated triode with a slightly different character from the 300B, a lighter, more transparent presentation with excellent high-frequency extension and a natural midrange that suits chamber music, vocal jazz, and acoustic recordings particularly well. Takatsuki's manufacturing precision produces the 2A3's inherent character with minimal coloration and exceptional tube-to-tube consistency.
