Laguna Precision is Auribus Acoustics' first closed-back headphone, built as an all-rounder for home, travel, and studio use. At 360 grams it leans hard into comfort and isolation without giving up detail, pairing a new Ultra-Low-Mass cellulose-cone dynamic driver with a CNC-machined aluminum housing. It's hand-assembled at Auribus' California facility.

Type and Technology

Laguna Precision is an over-ear, closed-back headphone built around Auribus' new ULM-35 driver, a 35mm Ultra-Low-Mass cellulose cone dynamic driver designed for low distortion and power efficiency. The enclosure is built on Auribus' new AURI-400 Controlled Response system, using a Dual S-Shape reflex port architecture aimed at giving a sealed design the staging and air normally associated with open-back headphones. The outer shell is precision CNC-machined from aircraft aluminum and anodized for durability.

Sound Character

Auribus describes the tuning as clean and energetic, with the ULM-35 driver and reflex-port enclosure aimed at low distortion, controlled bass extension (down to a claimed 10Hz), and a linear response out to 20kHz. The Dual S-Shape venting is the core of the pitch: the isolation of a closed-back with more space and engagement than sealed designs typically offer. As with any pre-release headphone, treat these as manufacturer targets until independent measurements are available.

Build and Comfort

A flexible spring-steel headband wrapped in a textured TPU comfort strap spreads clamping pressure evenly across the head, and at 360 grams the whole package stays light for all-day wear. Memory foam ear pads wrapped in sheepskin, paired with a sculpted ear cavity, are designed to seal comfortably across a range of head shapes and ear sizes.

At 36 ohms and 110dB/V efficiency, Laguna Precision is easy to drive from a phone, laptop, or portable source; a dedicated headphone amplifier isn't required but can add extra control over the bass.
