The Kuzma Stogi Reference 313 VTA is the Stogi Reference 313 mounted on a VTA tower, a rigid structure that allows the vertical tracking angle to be adjusted in increments of 0.01mm precision while the record is playing, with zero play and full repeatability. It combines the 12-inch Stogi Reference platform's ceramic bearings, conical tube, worm-drive azimuth, and detachable headshell with the on-the-fly VTA capability shared with Kuzma's 4Point flagship arm. Made in Slovenia.

Type and Technology

Gimbal-bearing tonearm with VTA tower, 12-inch (313mm effective length). All features of the Stogi Reference 313, ceramic ball bearings, conical internally-damped two-part aluminum tube, worm-drive azimuth, hexagonal-lock detachable headshell, mounted on a VTA tower that allows vertical tracking angle adjustment while playing. The VTA tower is rigid in all other planes: adjusting VTA does not affect azimuth, tracking force, or anti-skating. Adjustment precision is 0.01mm per increment with zero play and full repeatability. The VTA tower mounts on a standard 9-inch arm cutout position (212mm pivot-to-spindle) while providing the 313mm effective arm length of a 12-inch configuration. Total mass with VTA tower is 2,010g. Internal wiring: single uninterrupted run from cartridge clips to RCA. XLR or 5-pin optional. Made in Slovenia.

Design Philosophy

VTA (vertical tracking angle) affects the tonal balance and tracking characteristics of every cartridge, and changes with different record thicknesses. Most tonearms require the user to stop playback, adjust, and resume, an impractical process that discourages fine-tuning in practice. The VTA tower allows the listener to adjust VTA while a record plays and hear the result immediately, turning VTA optimization from a theoretical exercise into a practical and repeatable part of the setup process. At 0.01mm precision per increment, it is the most capable VTA adjustment system on any Kuzma arm.

Build and Finish

All parts machined from solid aluminum and brass. Ceramic ball bearings since July 2012. VTA tower in matching aluminum finish. Total assembly weight 2,010g. Standard wiring: copper, RCA (58pF). Optional XLR or 5-pin. Made in Slovenia.

Best For

Vinyl enthusiasts who want to fine-tune VTA while playing, particularly those with a large collection where record thickness varies, or those who have experienced VTA's tonal effect and want to optimize it precisely rather than set it once and leave it.
