Kiwi Ears Aether

Sale price$169.99

The Kiwi Ears Aether puts an unusually large 15.3mm planar magnetic driver in each ear, the biggest planar Kiwi Ears has built into an IEM. The goal is simple: the staging and speed of a planar headphone in a shell you can pocket.

Type and Technology

The 15.3mm planar diaphragm is driven by multi layered N52 neodymium magnet arrays, and a redesigned acoustic chamber with advanced ventilation lets the big driver breathe. Planar motion means the whole diaphragm moves uniformly, keeping distortion low and transients fast.

Sound Character

Expect a wide, speaker like stage with precise imaging, deep subwoofer style punch, and a warm transition into a flat, monitor accurate midrange from 300 to 800Hz. Treble follows the ear's natural tonal perception for detail without etch, and planar speed keeps complex tracks composed.

Build and Comfort

Despite the large driver, the medical grade resin shell with its glitter faceplate and metal accent ring keeps the fit manageable for most ears. The cable detaches at 0.78mm 2-pin connectors and terminates in 3.5mm. At 14 ohms and 105dB sensitivity it benefits from a clean source with some current, though phones drive it fine.

Best For

Planar curious listeners, gamers who want stage width, and audiophiles after headphone like presentation on the go. The Kiwi Ears Canta offers a hybrid planar approach for less; find both in our Kiwi Ears collection and the wider IEM range.
