Fiio SA1 Compact Active Speakers

The Fiio SA1 packs more connectivity into a compact active speaker pair than anything near its price: five wired inputs including a real MM phono stage, a subwoofer output, Bluetooth 5.4 with LDAC and a 31 band parametric EQ that works on every source. It is the feature density champion of our speaker collection.

Type and Technology

Each speaker combines a 3.5 inch wood fiber cone woofer with a 0.75 inch aluminum magnesium alloy dome tweeter, crossed over actively at 3.5kHz and driven by a TI TPA3118 Class D stage at 20W plus 5W per side, 50W total. Inputs cover switchable RCA or phono (with a built-in RIAA moving magnet preamp), 3.5mm AUX, USB-C at 24 bit 96kHz, coaxial at up to 24 bit 192kHz, optical at 24 bit 96kHz and Bluetooth 5.4 with LDAC, AAC and SBC.

Sound Character

The SA1 is warm, easygoing and fun, with natural mids from the wood fiber cone. Rated response reaches 65Hz, and the dedicated SUB OUT makes upgrading to a 2.1 system trivial when you want real sub bass. The 31 band lossless parametric EQ in the FiiO Control app applies to all inputs, wired or wireless.

Build and Features

High density MDF cabinets keep resonance down, a color coded light identifies the active input and an IR remote is included, something even far pricier desktop speakers skip. Power comes from an external 18V adapter. Available in Twilight Black or Cloud White.

Best For

Small desks and dorm systems that still want vinyl: plug a deck from our turntable collection straight into the phono input. Also great as a TV or console upgrade through optical and USB.
