Fiio M15S

The Fiio M15S puts a full desktop grade ESS ES9038PRO DAC, the eight channel flagship chip normally found in mains powered components, inside a portable Android player. Four converters run in parallel per channel, backed by FiiO's fourth generation FPGA processing and dual NDK femtosecond crystal oscillators.

A clever dual power architecture is the signature trick: plug in a fast charger and the M15S switches to higher voltage rails, unlocking Ultra High Gain and up to 1200mW per channel balanced.

Type and Technology

The ES9038PRO feeds a multi stage analog section with dedicated I/V conversion, low pass filtering, and OPA926 current amplification. A Snapdragon 660 runs Android 10 with full Google Play access, six operating modes cover Android, Pure Music, USB DAC, Bluetooth receiver, AirPlay, and Roon Ready use, and DAPS bit perfect playback keeps every app at its native sample rate. All To DSD, MQA 8x decoding, and a 3.5mm coaxial output extend its transport abilities.

Sound Character

The M15S is one of the most musical sounding players of FiiO's flagship generation, pairing ES9038PRO resolution with a natural, slightly warm tonal balance and less treble emphasis than the original M15. Lows are controlled and generous, mids are clear and airy, and the soundstage is wide with precise imaging and strong separation.

Build and Features

The black aluminum chassis carries a 5.5 inch 1440 x 720 display, a 120 step RGB volume knob, and graphene assisted heat dissipation, weighing about 345g. The 6200mAh battery delivers roughly 10.5 hours single ended or 9 hours balanced, with QC and PD fast charging plus battery protection modes. Outputs cover 3.5mm single ended alongside both 2.5mm and 4.4mm balanced jacks, and the included DK3S cooling dock supports sustained desktop sessions with battery bypass. Bluetooth reception includes aptX Adaptive, aptX LL, and LDAC, and storage expands via microSD up to 2TB.
