The Fiio K15 takes the recipe of the flagship K17 and brings it to a midrange price: dual AKM AK4497S DACs, a discrete class AB amplifier with 3000mW per channel of balanced power, a 3.93 inch touchscreen, and network streaming over Ethernet and WiFi, all in the same full size chassis with both AC and DC power options.
Type and Technology
The K15 is the first component to use AKM's AK4497S in a dual configuration, one DAC per channel, feeding a fully balanced discrete class AB output stage with op-amp plus transistor current amplification. USB handles PCM to 768kHz/32-bit and native DSD512 with full MQA decoding, network and local playback reach 384kHz and DSD256, and a 10-band lossless parametric EQ works across the digital inputs.
