The Fiio K13 R2R brings a true discrete resistor ladder DAC to the affordable desktop all-in-one. Its fully differential 24-bit R2R array uses 192 precision thin film resistors, paired with a fully balanced headphone amplifier delivering 2400mW per channel, Bluetooth 5.4 with LDAC, and both RCA and XLR line outputs, all in a compact unibody aluminum chassis.
Type and Technology
Instead of an off the shelf chip, the K13 R2R decodes with a Fiio developed four channel R2R ladder built from 48 thin film resistors per channel at 0.1% tolerance. Selectable NOS and OS modes switch between native rate playback for classic R2R flavor and global upsampling to 384kHz for a cleaner presentation. USB input handles PCM to 384kHz/32-bit and DSD256 with full MQA decoding, and a 10-band parametric EQ runs losslessly on the XMOS XU316 platform.
