Fiio FH9 Hybrid In-Ear Monitors

The FiiO FH9 is the flagship of FiiO's FH hybrid series, pairing a large 13.6mm dynamic driver with six Knowles balanced armatures inside precision machined titanium shells. Type and Technology

Seven drivers per side do the work here. FiiO's second generation 13.6mm DLC (diamond-like carbon) dynamic driver handles the lows with a redesigned magnetic circuit for roughly 20 percent higher magnet density, while six custom tuned Knowles balanced armatures, including SWFK ultra tweeters, cover the midrange and treble. Three pairs of swappable acoustic filters (balanced, bass and treble) let you shift the overall voicing in seconds.

Sound Character

With the stock balanced filters the FH9 delivers deep, textured bass with genuine physicality, a natural and slightly warm midrange, and extended, airy highs from the Knowles tweeters. The red filters add low end warmth and the green filters open up extra sparkle. At 18 ohms and 108dB/mW it is easy to drive from a phone or dongle, but it scales nicely with a dedicated player from our DAP collection.

Build and Comfort

Each shell is cut from titanium alloy using five axis CNC machining, then hand finished. Despite the seven driver count the housings are ergonomic and comfortable for long sessions, with balanced pressure relief venting to reduce ear fatigue. The expanded MMCX connectors release with the included tool, and the eight strand pure silver cable accepts interchangeable 2.5mm, 3.5mm and 4.4mm plugs.
