EMM Labs MTRX2 1KW Mono Amplifiers

The EMM Labs MTRX2 is a 1kW Class A/B monoblock power amplifier designed and manufactured in Canada, built using the proprietary Meitner circuit topologies and zero overall negative feedback developed in the reference MTRX flagship, now in a more accessible monoblock format. The MTRX2 delivers the measured performance of a reference solid-state amplifier and the musical character of a classic tube design, capable of driving any loudspeaker load, including those down to 1 ohm, without instability or distortion increase.

Type and Technology

Class A/B monoblock power amplifier, fully discrete, zero overall negative feedback. Proprietary Meitner circuit topologies inherited directly from the reference MTRX monoblocks. Fully discrete signal path with ultra-low distortion, very high bandwidth, and the ability to deliver massive transient currents instantaneously. Custom ceramic PCB boards, the same material choice as the MTRX, providing superior heat conduction, dimensional stability, and lower dielectric losses. Proprietary speaker protection and self-protection systems. Short and fully balanced audio paths throughout. Conservatively rated at 1,000W into 4 ohms. Completely stable at complex and low-impedance loads down to 1 ohm. Balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA inputs. Furutech speaker binding posts. RS232 and USB communication ports. 250V/30A IP44 industrial power inlet. Supplied with custom Kimber Kable 30A power cable and custom EMM Labs flight case. Sound Character

The MTRX2 is what Ed Meitner describes as a "gentle giant", 1kW of measured capability used with the restraint and resolution of a high-quality single-ended triode tube amplifier. Zero overall negative feedback allows the circuit's natural character to express itself without the phase shift and temporal smearing that heavily feedback-corrected designs introduce. The result is an amplifier that sounds like none of the numbers would suggest, sweet, musical, and detailed rather than forceful or electronic.
