Campfire Audio Gold 16

Gold 16 is a 16-conductor IEM cable built from individually gold-plated OFC copper, jacketed in oil- and moisture-resistant FEP (Teflon), and assembled with a common-mode geometry weave for low-impedance shielding. Designed in Portland, Oregon.

Type and Technology

Single-termination IEM cable. Sixteen conductors, each consisting of 24 strands of individually gold-plated OFC copper wound around an inner fiber core. 18 AWG aggregate cross-section. FEP (Teflon) jacket. Common-mode geometry weave for low-impedance shielding. Available with MMCX or 2-pin earphone connectors and 3.5mm or 2.5mm balanced terminations.

Sound Character

The gold-plated OFC copper conductor produces a smooth, neutral signature with very low resistance and good upper-frequency extension. The thick aggregate gauge contributes added control in the low frequencies. A natural pairing for balanced armature IEMs that benefit from a low-impedance cable run.

Build and Connectivity

Soft and flexible despite the 18 AWG aggregate cross-section. FEP jacket is oil and moisture resistant and noticeably tougher than PVC or PE jackets, giving the cable a long expected service life under daily use.
