Aurender AP20

The Aurender AP20 is an all-in-one streaming integrated amplifier that combines Aurender's server and DAC technology with Purifi Class D amplification in a single full-width chassis. It is a complete digital playback and amplification solution for the listener who wants Aurender streaming performance and speaker power without separate components.

Type and Technology

Built around a dual-mono AKM4497 DAC module with MQA full decoding and an OCXO-based FPGA clock generator for very low jitter. Amplification is handled by dual Purifi Eigentakt 1ET400A Class D modules in dual-mono configuration, delivering 200 watts into 8 ohms and up to 350 watts into 4 ohms. All playback runs from solid-state memory, and six discrete toroidal transformers power the CPU, left and right DAC boards, FPGA, and output stages separately.

Sound Character

The Purifi amplification is engineered to be free of digital harshness, edginess, and grain, pairing high power and a very high damping factor with the resolution of the AKM dual-mono DAC. The result is a clean, controlled, and detailed presentation with firm grip on the loudspeaker.

Build and Connectivity

Machined aluminum chassis with an 8.8-inch wide IPS color display and a relay-based R2R attenuator for volume. Digital inputs include coaxial RCA, coaxial BNC, and two optical/Toslink; a balanced XLR line output can feed a subwoofer, and a 6.5mm headphone output is provided. Speaker terminals are WBT nextgen posts. Streaming covers Tidal, Qobuz, Apple AirPlay, and Spotify Connect via the Aurender Conductor app, with two user-installable 2.5-inch storage bays.
