Aurender A15

The Aurender A15 is a network music server, DAC, and preamplifier in a single chassis, the upgraded replacement for the A10. With a built-in dual-mono DAC, MQA full decoding, digital-level volume control, and user-installable storage, it is a highly competitive all-in-one analog-output source that sits between the A200 and A20 in Aurender's lineup.

Type and Technology

Analog-output caching music server with a dual-mono AKM4490 DAC and MQA full decoder, decoding PCM up to 32-bit/768kHz and DSD up to DSD512. A TCXO word clock and full linear power supply support the digital stage. DAC-level lossless volume control lets the A15 act as a preamplifier feeding a power amplifier directly, and all playback is cached to solid-state memory.

Sound Character

The dual-mono AKM4490 implementation is voiced for a resolving yet natural presentation. Running the A15 directly into a power amp via its lossless volume control keeps the signal path short, favoring transparency and low-noise detail.

Build and Connectivity

Machined aluminum chassis with a 6.9-inch IPS color display. Balanced XLR (4.0 Vrms) and unbalanced RCA (2.0 Vrms) analog outputs, a dedicated USB audio output to feed a second DAC, and coaxial and optical digital inputs for external sources. Two rear bays accept user-installable 2.5-inch HDDs or SSDs up to 8TB each, and a super-capacitor UPS protects against power interruptions.
