The Aune Yuki is a high-end portable USB DAC and headphone amplifier in a compact dongle form. It pairs a dual-DAC architecture with a fully discrete, transistor-based balanced headphone amplifier, and separates the digital and analog circuits onto two dedicated layers for clean, high-fidelity sound. With balanced and single-ended outputs and enough power for most IEMs and headphones, it turns a phone, tablet, laptop, or games console into a serious hi-res source.

Type and Technology

The Yuki is a portable USB-C DAC/amp (dongle) built around two Cirrus Logic CS43198 DAC chips, one per channel, for better dynamics and channel separation. It decodes hi-res audio up to 32-bit/768 kHz PCM and native DSD256. Rather than an integrated amp chip, Aune uses a discrete headphone amplifier board with a plus/minus 5 V supply and 16 transistors forming a four-way balanced amplifier. The whole design sits on a hybrid ceramic PCB for excellent thermal behavior and better high-frequency performance, and an innovative dual-layer structure keeps the digital DAC circuitry physically separated from the analog amplifier circuitry.

Sound Character

The Yuki aims for true high-fidelity reproduction with an exceptionally clean, low-noise background. Output noise is just 2.9 microvolts with THD+N of 0.00033% at 1 kHz, so the presentation is quiet and precise, letting fine detail and dynamics come through. The dual-DAC layout supports strong separation and imaging, and the discrete amplifier provides confident, controlled drive across a range of headphones and IEMs.

Build and Finish

The Yuki has a CNC-machined aluminium-alloy chassis with a fine baked-enamel finish and a glass window on the front, offered in white. Dedicated volume keys sit on the body for quick control. The compact footprint makes it easy to pocket or pair with a phone, and it includes a Nintendo Switch UAC1.0 mode for console use.
