Aune S10 Pro

The Aune S10 Pro is the flagship of Aune's network music player line, taking the mastertape-grade 5-core streaming platform of the S10N and adding a built-in ESS SABRE ES9038 Pro DAC, a precision clock module, and a 10M clock output. It is a complete high-end streaming source that plays wireless services, NAS libraries, USB storage, and HD Bluetooth while decoding everything internally with a focus purely on sound.

Type and Technology

The S10 Pro is a distributed 5-core streaming music player with an integrated DAC. It combines a MediaTek streaming core, an NXP Cortex-M7 (Freescale) underlying hardware decoding core, a Qualcomm QCC5125 Bluetooth core, an Aune PLL clock core, and an FPGA asynchronous generation core, and adds the flagship ESS SABRE ES9038 Pro decoding chip. It supports up to 32bit/768k PCM and DSD512. Streaming runs through a dedicated control app with AirPlay, Tidal, Qobuz, DLNA, and NAS, while Bluetooth handles HD codecs including LDAC and aptX HD. The PLL clock core supports an external clock input, and the S10 Pro adds a 10M clock output so it can serve as a clock reference in a larger system. An all-aluminium remote is included.

Sound Character

Built on the ES9038 Pro DAC and a precision clock module, the S10 Pro is tuned by referencing real instruments and music pieces for a natural, musical, and highly detailed signature. The custom ultra-low-jitter oscillator and PLL core deliver purer digital signals, and the digital plus linear dual-transformer power supply keeps both digital and analog outputs clean. Measured performance includes a noise floor of 3.2 microvolts and THD+N of 0.00029% at 24bit/44.1k, with frequency response held to plus or minus 0.5 dB.

Build and Finish

The S10 Pro uses a minimalist chassis with a 4 inch display designed to minimize light pollution and interference, with most control available from a smartphone. It provides two USB ports supporting external storage up to 2TB each, two independent antennas so Wi-Fi and Bluetooth do not interfere, and carefully selected HiFi components including C0G and film chip capacitors. It ships with an all-aluminium remote and is available in Black and Silver.
