Aune N7

The Aune N7 is a compact, fully discrete pure Class-A headphone amplifier and preamplifier that brings the analogue warmth of classic amplifiers together with modern precision. This is the pure-amplifier edition of the N7, focused entirely on amplification, with a Twin JFET input, an R2R volume control, and two Class-A bias stages packed into an elegant aluminium chassis.

Type and Technology

The N7 is a pure Class-A, fully discrete, fully balanced headphone amplifier that can also serve as a preamplifier. A precisely matched Twin JFET input stage feeds a specially developed two-stage Class-A bias current system driving the transistor output stage, so the amplifier runs consistently in true Class-A. Two JRC R2R volume chips with dedicated op-amps form a four-channel balanced volume control for accurate level tracking and channel balance. Two gain stages cover everything from sensitive in-ears on low gain to demanding full-size headphones on high gain, which delivers up to 6.5W. Connectivity includes 6.35mm single-ended and 4.4mm Pentaconn headphone outputs, two line inputs, and two preamp outputs, so it can also drive active speakers or a power amplifier.

Sound Character

Running in pure Class-A, the N7 has a silky, harmonious sound with natural warmth and a full body. The Twin JFET input lends a smooth, tube-like character, while the two-stage bias control lets you shade the presentation between a tighter, more efficient sound and a fuller, warmer one. The result is a detailed, musical performance with outstanding fidelity.

Build and Finish

The N7 uses a full aluminium chassis with a 3D thermal architecture that keeps Class-A operating conditions stable. A 3-inch display and a multifunction control knob make operation straightforward, with two colours indicating current and temperature in real time. A metal remote control is included. The N7 is finished in Black.
