Raal 1995 Immanis (R³ triple true-ribbon driver)

The Raal 1995 Immanis is an open-back true-ribbon headphone with a triple-ribbon R3 driver configuration: three complementary-tuned corrugated pure aluminum ribbons with Viscodamp "Silent Metal" dampening, totaling 25.2cm² of combined surface area for 3dB more maximum SPL than the Magna and a soundstage, speed, and tonal presence that listeners consistently describe as exhilarating. Type and Technology

Open-back true-ribbon headphone. Triple complementary-tuned true-ribbon configuration (R3); three corrugated pure aluminum ribbons per earcup with Viscodamp "Silent Metal" viscosity dampening. Combined ribbon surface area of 25.2cm², 50% larger than the Magna and approximately twice the surface area of the Raal CA-1. Maximum SPL of 118dB with excursion up to 4mm. Ultra-low impedance ribbon load of 0.057 ohms (0.29 ohms with STAR-8 MkII cable), requires a Ribbon Current-Drive Interface (RCDI-32 or RCDI-8) or compatible direct-drive amplifier. Enlarged round ear cup opening at 74mm for larger ears. Gold-plated 3.5mm TRRS female input connectors. Fiberglass-aluminum composite housing with hard-waxed American walnut veneer. Gold-plated three-phase etched stainless steel rear grille. Titanium aluminum nitride coated headspring with gold-plated five-position click-stop adjustment. Diamond pattern cushion-stitched suede headband underside. Memory foam, lamb suede, and perforated leather ear pads.

Sound Character

An expansive soundstage, extraordinary delivery speed, unmatched clarity, and an exhilarating physical presence. The Immanis takes everything that makes ribbon headphone listening compelling and scales it to a new level. The 50% larger ribbon surface area versus the Magna produces a 3dB increase in maximum SPL alongside a larger front chamber and more air moving per cycle, resulting in a headphone of rare dynamic authority combined with the ribbon's characteristic lack of mass-related coloration.

626g (without cable). Gold-plated three-phase etched stainless steel grille distinguishes the Immanis from the Magna visually. Fiberglass-aluminum composite body with American walnut veneer. Waterproof carry case included with all packages.

Please note: The Ribbon Current-Drive Interface (RCDI) converts the headphone and cable's near-zero impedance to 32 or 8 ohms for use with conventional amplifiers.
