The Fostex TH1100RPmk2 is the open-back sibling to the TH1000RPmk2, sharing the same Awa Aizome indigo-dyed hard maple housing, the same large-format RP planar driver, and the same magnesium alloy mechanical refinements, but tuned for a natural, high-resolution open soundfield with double aluminum-etched housing apertures for optimized acoustic venting.

Each housing is unique in its grain and color depth. The TH1100RPmk2 adds a gold-plated finish accent to the housing aperture for visual distinction from the closed-back model.
