Kuzma Stogi Tonearm

The Kuzma Stogi is a medium-mass gimbal-bearing tonearm built from solid aluminum and brass with precision ball bearings matched to gyroscope-grade quality standards, each bearing vacuum-sealed at the factory with an individual serial number, rated to 20kg load, and selected for zero play at extremely low starting and running friction. A significant step up from the unipivot Stogi S in bearing precision and lateral stability. Made in Slovenia.

Type and Technology

Gimbal-bearing tonearm, 9-inch. Four precision ball bearings, two for vertical, two for horizontal movement, pre-loaded, selected for zero play and low friction, glued into position for rigidity and vibration damping. The same bearing grade used in gyroscopes. Each bearing is vacuum-sealed at the factory with its own serial number for quality traceability. All parts are machined from solid aluminum and brass blocks. Some parts are anodized and some are not, a deliberate choice to tune resonance behavior. The straight tube is machined from an aluminum rod fixed on a brass support to increase tube damping. Azimuth is adjusted by releasing a locking screw and rotating the tube on its brass support, a direct and repeatable mechanism. Decoupled brass counterweight controls balance and tracking force while damping vibration in the tube. VTA adjustment by raising or lowering the arm in its base. Internal wiring is a single uninterrupted run from cartridge pins to RCA connectors. Balanced XLR or 5-pin connection available. Made in Slovenia.

Design Philosophy

Where the Stogi S uses a unipivot bearing, the Stogi uses four precision ball bearings, a fundamental difference in stability and predictability. Ball-bearing gimbals control motion in defined planes and eliminate the rocking behavior that unipivots require damping to manage. The Kuzma approach of gluing bearings into position, unusual in the industry, eliminates play and provides a further layer of vibration absorption. The result is an arm that rewards careful cartridge matching and setup with consistent, stable tracking across all groove geometries.
