Kuzma Stogi S Tonearm

The Kuzma Stogi S is the entry point to Kuzma's tonearm lineup, a unipivot design introduced in 1992 with a square solid aluminum headshell and solid brass base that have made it one of the most respected affordable unipivot arms available. Available in 9-inch and 12-inch configurations with silicone damping, fine azimuth adjustment, and wiring that runs uninterrupted from headshell to RCA connectors. Made in Slovenia.

Type and Technology

Unipivot tonearm, 9-inch or 12-inch. The bearing is a polished pivot point sited in an oil well for extremely low friction and vibration. Bearing height is set at record level for optimum tracking geometry. All arm parts are machined from solid blocks of aluminum and brass for damping and minimal resonance. The square headshell is machined from a solid aluminum block, a distinctive geometric design that provides exceptional rigidity while controlling resonance. The base is solid brass. Silicone damping controls cartridge resonance and also provides azimuth stability. Two counterweights allow independent adjustment of tracking force and azimuth. Fine azimuth adjustment is achieved by rotation of a horizontal screw in the main counterweight without affecting any other tonearm parameters, a notably elegant and practical solution. Internal wiring is a single uninterrupted run from headshell pins to RCA phono connectors. Balanced XLR or 5-pin connection available by pre-order. VTA adjustment available on any mounting. Design Philosophy

Unipivot bearing designs are valued for their freedom of movement in all planes and their low bearing friction, which allows a cartridge to track the groove with minimal mechanical interference. The Stogi S addresses the inherent azimuth instability of unipivot designs through silicone damping and the fine screw-adjust counterweight mechanism, producing an arm that is easier to set up and more stable in use than most unipivots at any price.
